YS Jagan Invited To Launch Kia Motors’ First Made-in-India Car

Amaravati: Representatives of Korean auto major Kia Motors met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and invited him for the inauguration of its first Made-in-India car on August 8, and also launch the new car - Seltos.

Kia Motors represented by the company's Managing Director Kook Hyun Shim and the Chief Administrative Officer Thomas Kim along with a delegation met YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at his residence and requested him to attend the ceremony at Penukonda in Anantapur district.

Kia Motors' first plant in India has been built on a 536-acre site at Penukonda in Anantapur district. Kia had signed a memorandum of understanding with the Andhra Pradesh government in April 2017 for setting up the car manufacturing plant with an investment of USD 1.1 billion, to produce three lakh cars a year.

The company spokesperson said that they would be able to manufacture seven lakh cars in the future with added capacity. They informed him that they were also exporting engines to Turkey and Slovakia. Chief Minister YS Jagan accepted the invitation and said that he would attend the inauguration of Kia's new car.
