YS Jagan Holds Review Of Agriculture Mission

Tadepalli: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review of Agriculture Mission on Saturday here at his Camp Office. The comprehensive review includes diverse issues such as supply of seeds to farmers, irrigation water needs, and electricity supply for nine hours during daytime to farmers, among other things. Agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu along with senior officials took part in the review meeting. The Chief Minister had earlier constituted the Agriculture Mission to serve as an Advisory Council on agriculture.

Agriculture Mission will serve as a coordinating agency between agriculture and allied sectors in the state. It will also come up with solutions to the challenges being faced by farmers on various fronts ranging from supply to marketing to fixing crop prices, among other things. Agriculture Mission will serve as a platform to point the way forward to the farming sector in Andhra Pradesh and will empower agriculturists in a planned manner. YS Jagan has appointed a prominent leader of farmers, MVS Nagi Reddy as Chairman of Agriculture Mission.
