TTD, coalition neglecting temple safety

Tadepalli, Jan 3: YSRCP has slammed the TTD and coalition government for its total failure in safeguarding the sanctity of Tirumala with an incident of desecration atop Govindarajaswamy temple taking place last night.

Speaking to media, former MLA Malladi Vishnu said, neither TTD officials nor the coalition government has any concern for devotees and safety measures were left to the winds with a drunkard climbing the Govindarajaswamy temple at Tirumala and vandalizing the idols and kalasam.

This is sacrilege and the officials should take responsibility, he said, adding that the TTD Board and coalition government has been busy in serving the VIPs during the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi, which draws huge crowds of devotees.

This is the only Board and government which has deliberately discouraged devotees from coming to Tirumala and asking them to pray in their nearest temples, hurting the sentiments of the devotees. Ever since Chandrababu made the false allegation of using adulterated ghee in the laddu, there have been a series of disasters hurting the sentiments of the devotees.

During Vaikunta Ekadasi, there was a stampede claiming human lives, which was followed by a series of incidents at Kasibugga, Simhachalam and there was a power failure for over three hours at Kanakadurga temple, which shows the scant respect Chandrababu government has for Sanathana Dharma.

The most recent case in Draksharamam where the Siva Linga was damaged was hushed up as the accused was a TDP sympathizer. There is no safety for devotees, hundi, or gosala and the prasadam quality has come down drastically. The government should own responsibility to give a convincing answer to last night’s incident, he said.
