TDP hid Adani’s name fearing YS Jagan would get the credit

Visakhapatnam, Oct 24:Former minister and Anakapalli district YSRCP president Gudivada Amarnath accused Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh of deliberately concealing Adani’s name in the Google Data Center project, fearing that credit would go to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who laid its foundation and initiated the project. He said the coalition’s exaggerated job claims were a propaganda ploy to mislead people and hijack recognition from those who actually delivered the project.

Amarnath reminded that YS Jagan laid the foundation stone for the Adani Data Center in Visakhapatnam on May 3, 2023, and initiated discussions with the Singapore government for the submarine cable network. He said Google officially confirmed Adani as its partner through a letter to the state government and even tweeted about it, but the TDP-led coalition deliberately hid this to deny YS Jagan the credit.

He clarified that YSRCP never opposed the project but questioned the inflated job figures, as the company itself had indicated about 200 direct jobs. He said the government was misleading the youth with false job claims and lacked clarity on employment potential.

Amarnath also highlighted that the YSRCP government executed the Bhogapuram Airport project by acquiring 2,700 acres, completing rehabilitation, and initiating construction, unlike Chandrababu who laid the foundation without acquiring land.

“Chandrababu and Lokesh have mastered the art of stealing credit. They are running a marketing agency, not a government,” Amarnath said, adding that even BJP leaders have now turned into Chandrababu’s pocket partners.
