State budget disappoints employees, no clarity on CPS
02 Mar 2025 6:32 PM

Tadepalli, March 1:N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, YSRCP Employees & Pensioners Wing State President, lambasted the state budget for its gross neglect of employees and pensioners.
Speaking to the media, he condemned the absence of allocations for Rs. 30,000 crore in pending dues, including gratuity, medical reimbursements, and DA arrears, accusing the government of attempting to evade these payments. He criticized the lack of clarity on canceling the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and the failure to deliver on promised Pay Revision Commission (PRC) reforms and interim relief, despite nine months in power.
The government failed to assure salaries on the 1st of every month, fulfilling this promise only once in nine months. Chandrasekhar also slammed the government for deceiving contract and outsourcing employees, offering no job security or regularization, and abandoning volunteers despite pre-election assurances.
The much-touted Mega DSC recruitment remains stalled, with no notification or progress, while 21,000 posts in village secretariats and RBK centers remain vacant.
Further, he questioned the imposition of heavy taxes under the guise of wealth creation and demanded accountability for Rs. 1.32 lakh crore in loans, which have not translated into public welfare.
He highlighted the budget’s silence on unemployment allowances and a job calendar, accusing the government of prioritizing false narratives over employee welfare.
“The state has failed to provide even basic assurances to its workforce,” Chandrasekhar Reddy asserted, urging immediate action to address these grievances.
