*Rs. 360 Cr Polavaram sand loot must be probed: Devineni Avinash*

Tadepalli, June 23: YSRCP NTR District President Devineni Avinash demanded a CBI inquiry into the large-scale excavation of sand from the Polavaram Right Main Canal and the disappearance of CCTV footage in the Sai Krishna incident at Krishnalanka Police Station. Addressing the media at the YSRCP central office, he said illegal mining of soil, sand and fly ash has become rampant in NTR district since the coalition government assumed office.
Avinash stated that sand worth nearly Rs.350–360 crore is being excavated and transported from the Polavaram canal embankments near Kotturu-Tadepalli in Vijayawada. He warned that indiscriminate excavation is weakening the canal bunds and could pose a serious threat during floods, putting public safety at risk. He questioned the silence of the Mining, Irrigation, Revenue and Police departments despite large-scale operations taking place openly.
He said Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni has turned “MP” from “Member of Parliament” into “Mud and Gambling,” claiming that gambling clubs, sand operations, soil excavation, ration rice diversion and attempts to occupy temple lands are flourishing under political patronage. He further stated that coalition leaders openly boast of enjoying the support of Minister Nara Lokesh and use that influence to intimidate officials who question illegal activities.
Avinash also expressed concern over the disappearance of CCTV footage connected to the Sai Krishna episode at Krishnalanka Police Station. He questioned how footage from a police station could vanish and demanded answers from senior police officials. Stating that the SIT lacks credibility, he called for a comprehensive CBI investigation into both the soil excavation racket and the CCTV footage disappearance to uncover the truth and hold those responsible accountable.
