Rebuild Karivena Satram compound wall immediately : Katasani
30 Jan 2026 7:36 PM

Nandyal, Jan 30: Former Srisailam MLA Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy and Nandyal district YSRCP president Katasani Rambhoopal Reddy demanded that the coalition government immediately reconstruct the demolished compound wall of the historic Karivena Brahmin Satram at Srisailam, stating that the demolition was carried out illegally on the directions of the local MLA and without issuing any prior notice. Speaking to the media at the YSRCP district office in Nandyal, they warned that if the government fails to act immediately, the YSRCP will launch an agitation along with the Brahmin community.
They said the Karivena Satram, established in 1889, has been providing annadana to devotees visiting the Srisailam shrine for over a century and continues to serve pilgrims across the country through annadana activities at multiple sacred centres. Terming the demolition of the satram’s compound wall an insult to the entire Hindu community, they questioned how a government that allotted land worth thousands of crores to private institutions could justify demolishing a Brahmin annadana satram over a small parcel of land. They alleged that Devasthanam Assistant Commissioner Chandrasekhar Reddy acted under political pressure and carried out the demolition in a high-handed manner.
The YSRCP leaders also condemned Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for continuing false propaganda about animal fat in Tirumala laddus, despite the CBI SIT charge sheet clearly confirming that no animal fat was used. They said the false campaign deeply hurt Hindu sentiments and demanded that both leaders apologise to devotees and stop using temples and God for political gains, warning that the Hindu community will not tolerate such actions any longer.
