Provide proper security to Jagan for Nellore visit

Tadepalli, July 29: Former MP Gorantla Madhav has condemned the restrictions imposed by police for the visit of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Nellore and said that police should work as per the law book and not according to the whims of political leadership.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, he said, police stating that rowdy sheets would be opened on those attending the meeting is audacious as such an action would be taken against people with criminal record and not sympathizers of a political party.
Past experience shows that police failed in giving proper protection to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visit to Guntur, Podili and Bangarupalem when he visited to console farmers. Adequate security was not in place during his visit which shows that police failed in their duty to protect a public figure.
On the contrary cases were filed against those who came to see the leader besides harassing them and imposing restrictions on the number of people to come, the number of vehicles to be taken and the like, which cannot be termed as policing.
Police should provide proper protection to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his visit to Nellore on July 31 during which he will be meeting party leaders Kakani Govardhan Reddy and N Prasanna Kumar Reddy. Filing cases indiscriminately is not a good practice and all days will not remain the same and erring persons will have to face the consequences, he said.
