Organised political violence under police watch; we will take AP lawlessness to the national stage: Sajjala
02 Feb 2026 6:32 PM

NTR District, Feb 2: YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy stated that the recent chain of incidents in Andhra Pradesh reflects a dangerous pattern of organised political violence carried out under police watch. He said the attack on former minister Ambati Rambabu’s house by TDP cadres took place despite police presence and that the entire state witnessed how an “organised TDP mob” operated freely in Guntur. He criticised senior police officials for being unreachable even during emergencies and said that when leaders, including a former woman Home Minister, tried to meet the SP, they were made to wait on the road. He questioned how the victim, Ambati Rambabu, was arrested and remanded while attackers roamed free, noting that a TDP MLA’s camp office is located close to Rambabu’s residence and alleging that the intention was to send a message that the ruling party can do anything.
Sajjala said YSRCP leaders were blocked when they tried to console Rambabu’s family and that police who failed to protect the victim instead obstructed those visiting in solidarity. He further stated that the attack on former minister Jogi Ramesh’s house was pre-planned, involving TDP leaders and known rowdy-sheeters who brought sticks, stones, and petrol bombs in an ambulance. He claimed police were present alongside the attackers, remained there throughout the violence, and later escorted them away. He pointed out that Jogi Ramesh’s father, wife, and son were inside the house during the attack, indicating a potential threat to their lives.
Calling the government’s functioning “authoritarian,” Sajjala warned that violence starting with political leaders could spread to the public. He said that YSRCP leaders attempting to verify the situation at Jogi Ramesh’s house were blocked and even arrested, while no proper investigation had yet been conducted there and cases were instead filed against Jogi Ramesh. The ruling leadership acted as if the law and police were under their control and said continued violence would politically backfire on them.
He added that YSRCP will raise the ongoing violence at the national level and said the party has already informed people that claims about Tirupati laddu adulteration were false. He criticised TDP for putting up misleading banners with photos of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and other leaders without names, attacks followed when YSRCP demanded their removal. Sajjala asserted that the party will continue to question the government despite attacks, is documenting every incident, and will respond politically and legally, warning that those responsible will be held accountable in due course.
