Opposition leaders non-locals

Kandukuru (Nellore Dist) : Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy rounded off his first day electioneering by seeking votes for continuation of welfare schemes and slammed the TDP-JSP-BJP combine as a non-local outfit with the leaders returning to their respective nests after the elections are over like migratory birds.
Addressing a public meeting here on Sunday, he said, Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Purandeswari are all non locals and they would return to the neighbouring State after the elections are over. They are here only to honk their false promises which they never honour.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister said that he is seeking a second term after the immense good done to the people in the last 58 months and people should vote for welfare and reject the alliance partners.
The work done by the Government is tangible in the form of village and ward secretariats, RBKs, English medium schools and volunteer system that delivered monthly social pensions at the door step.
The Government implemented various welfare schemes like Amma Vodi, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Jagananna Thodu, Rythu Bharosa, YSR Aasara, Cheyutha and Videshi Vidya Deevena for the benefit of various sections of people irrespective of caste, creed, region, religion or party affiliations, he said.
YSRCP should retain power to continue the volunteer system, the respect the weaker sections are enjoying now and the distribution of welfare benefits through DBT schemes in transparency, he said, cautioning people that if TDP is voted to power, it would only pursue the policy of plunder, stash and devour that it once followed. A whopping share of the welfare has gone to the weaker sections and is a statement of welfare governance, he said.
The TDP and its allies, which won the 2014 elections with false promises, have again joined hands to cheat the people again in the name of Super 6 and Super 7 promises, he said, cautioning the people not to believe them.
