Oppn. stalling disbursal of welfare benefits: CM

Mangalagiri (Guntur Dist), May 10: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came down heavily on TDP and its allies saying after stalling door delivery of social pensions, they have also stalled the disbursal of the on-gong DBT welfare benefits for which he had already clicked the buttons.

Addressing a mammoth public meeting here on Friday, the Chief Minister reminded people that a vote for YSRCP in the May 13 elections will ensure continuation of welfare schemes while a vote for TDP and allies will result in stoppage of all schemes.

If you want the volunteer system to be reinstated, monthly social pensions delivered at door step, the reforms in education, agriculture and medical and health sectors to be continued and the stalled DBT welfare benefits to be disbursed, you should vote for the YSRCP, he told the people.

TDP president Chandrababu Naidu has become jealous of YSRCP’s growing popularity among the masses and hence, they are resorting to the acts of stalling welfare benefits to the people, he said.

By stalling the disbursal of welfare benefits, they feel they are strangulating my throat but actually they are putting lives of beneficiaries to risk. People to teach a fitting lesson to the TDP and its allies by rejecting them outright in the elections.

He said YSRCP has fulfilled 99 per cent of its election promises and implemented various welfare schemes for the upliftment of the weaker sections thereby bringing sanctity to manifesto for the first time.

On the other hand, history proved that Chandrababu would throw away the election manifesto into the dustbin after seeking the people’s mandate through false promises.

Stating that Naidu has no achievements to his credit despite being at the helm for 14 years, he said that people can’t think of even a single welfare scheme implemented during the TDP leader’s rule.

Education sector has been revolutionised with schemes like Amma Vodi, Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Nadu-Nedu and English medium schools, he said, adding self-help groups have attained economic empowerment through schemes like YSR Cheyutha and Aasara.

Besides taking preventive health care to the door step of people, Government has also been handholding the farmers through schemes like Rythu Bharosa, free crop insurance and input subsidy. he said, adding Government has also empowered self- employed sections with schemes like Jagananna Thodu, Vahana Mitra and Chethodu.

He said rural landscape has also changed with village and ward secretariats that extend 600 civic services and the volunteer system that door-delivers pensions and ration every month,

Flaunting the TDP’s 2014 election manifesto copy, the Chief Minister said that Naidu had defaulted on the promise of waiver of farm loans, self-help group loans, deposit of Rs. 25,000 on birth of girl babies, allotment of 3-cent house sites to the poor, job for every house, Rs. 2000 monthly stipend for the unemployed, women protection force, high tech city in every Mandal and Rs.1000crore BC sub plan,

What type of cases should be filed against Naidu for cheating the people with false promises, he asked.

Unlike Naidu who introduces schemes just before elections to hood wink people, he said he had begun implementing various welfare schemes soon after assuming power as per a scheduled welfare calendar.

Urging people not to be misled by the misleading promises of Naidu, the Chief Minister asked them to give a clean sweep of 175 Assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats to YSRCP for continuing the welfare saga.
