*Naidu govt slashes welfare, abandons farmers and betrays election promises: B.Y. Ramaiah*

Tadepalli, June 20: YSRCP official spokesperson B.Y. Ramaiah said the coalition government has turned governance into a regime of cuts by failing to implement its election promises to farmers, women, youth and weaker sections, while dismantling welfare systems created during the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government. Addressing the media at the party's central office in Tadepalli, he said the government has excluded nearly seven lakh farmers from the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, reduced welfare benefits, and failed to provide remunerative prices for maize, bengal gram, tobacco, mango and banana crops, pushing farmers into severe distress.
Ramaiah stated that while Y.S. Jagan fulfilled and even exceeded his promises through Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Bharosa Kendras and direct welfare support, the present government copied the scheme under a new name but failed to honour its own commitment of providing Rs.20,000 annually to farmers. He said assistance under natural calamity relief, input subsidy and zero-interest loan schemes has been neglected, and the government's response to aqua farmers came only after statewide protests exposed its failure.
He further said that major election promises, including Aadabidda Nidhi and unemployment allowance, remain unimplemented, while political vendetta has replaced governance through the filing of illegal cases against opposition leaders. Referring to the arrest of Eluru Parliament In-charge Karumuri Sunil Kumar Yadav and actions against several YSRCP leaders, Ramaiah said the government is targeting political opponents instead of addressing public issues. He asserted that people are witnessing the coalition government's failures across every sector and are ready to deliver a strong political verdict against a government that has betrayed its promises and weakened welfare for every section of society.
