Nellore, oct 21: MLC Parvatha Reddy Chandrasekhar Reddy criticised the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government for deceiving state employees with false promises and anti-employee policies. Addressing media at the YSR Congress Party office in Nellore, he said that announcing just one pending DA during Diwali, and that too to be paid only at retirement without interest, was a cruel betrayal of employees.
He said that employees expected Chandrababu to clear four pending DAs, announce the PRC Commission, and sanction 30% Interim Relief (IR), but the CM instead chose to mislead them. “No government in the country has ever said DA arrears will be paid decades later without interest. This exposes his arrogance and disregard for employees,” he said.
Parvatha Reddy pointed out that during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s five-year rule, employees received 11 DAs, including one pending from the previous TDP government. In contrast, Chandrababu is lying about four pending DAs that actually fall under his current tenure. He explained that one DA remained pending under YSRCP only because of the Centre’s delay before elections.
The MLC criticized Chandrababu for not constituting a new PRC Commission even after two years and three months, while also denying employees Interim Relief. He noted that Jagan granted a 23% PRC even during COVID, while Chandrababu, after 18 months in power, has failed to act.
Referring to employee dues, he said the CM himself admitted to Rs. 22,000 crore arrears in the Assembly, but now claims Rs. 34,000 crore, showing gross inconsistency. He condemned the plan to pay pension arrears in 12 installments till 2027–28 as harassment of retired staff.
Parvatha Reddy demanded immediate constitution of the PRC, 30% IR, and installment-wise payment of arrears, urging the government to stop deceiving employees and treat them with dignity.
