Naidu betrayed women with unfulfilled Aadabidda Nidhi promise

Vijayawada, July 23: Vijayawada Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for repeatedly deceiving the women of Andhra Pradesh with unfulfilled promises. She demanded that a case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code be registered against Naidu for what she described as blatant fraud. “Chandrababu Naidu has betrayed the trust of women by promising the Aadabidda Nidhi scheme during elections, even distributing bonds, only to renege on those commitments once in power,” Bhagyalakshmi stated. She questioned whether the state would need to be sold to implement a single welfare scheme, challenging Naidu’s claim that fulfilling such promises would bankrupt Andhra Pradesh.
The Mayor highlighted Naidu’s history of unkept pledges, citing the 2014-19 period when he promised loan waivers for DWCRA groups but failed to deliver, leaving women in financial distress. “Once again, under the guise of Aadabidda Nidhi, he has cheated women, proving that deception is a pattern in his governance,” she asserted.
Bhagyalakshmi criticized Naidu’s contradictory stance, noting that during the election campaign, he promised to implement both Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s welfare schemes and his own Super Six initiatives, only to backtrack post-election, claiming they were unfeasible.
“We will not remain silent until the Aadabidda Nidhi scheme is implemented. On behalf of the YSR Congress Party, women across Andhra Pradesh will fight relentlessly for their rights,” Bhagyalakshmi declared. She further said that Naidu is misleading not only women but also farmers in the capital region, who have publicly called out his deceptive practices. “A leader with 40 years of political experience should not resort to such lies. The people of Andhra Pradesh, from farmers to women, have recognized Chandrababu’s betrayals,” she said.
The Mayor also took aim at Naidu’s remarks during YS Jagan’s tenure, when he warned that welfare schemes would turn Andhra Pradesh into “another Sri Lanka.” She challenged his credibility, asking why he made grandiose promises without assessing their feasibility. Bhagyalakshmi emphasized that the YSRCP would continue its fight to hold Naidu accountable, ensuring that the voices of women and marginalized communities are heard.
