*Dismiss TDP Minister who harassed NRI woman: YSRCP*

Visakhapatnam, August 6: YSRCP Women’s Wing State President and MLC Varudu Kalyani demanded the immediate dismissal and arrest of the TDP Minister who harassed Telugu NRI Dr. Talluri Shayla in Dallas. Addressing the media at the party’s city office, she sought registration of a criminal case and a forensic examination of the chats, photographs and other digital evidence placed by the victim.

Kalyani said the woman approached the Minister seeking an appointment regarding service activities, but he pressured her to meet him alone at a coffee shop and sent her inappropriate photographs. Despite the victim publicly tagging Nara Lokesh, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan with supporting evidence, the government remained silent. Instead of protecting her, TDP social-media groups targeted and harassed the complainant, she said.
She stated that the coalition government had completely failed to protect women during its 27 months in office, while ruling-party MLAs, leaders and functionaries repeatedly figured in cases of harassment and violence. She questioned why Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha and women Ministers Savitha and Sandhya Rani had not demanded action against a colleague sitting beside them in the Cabinet.
Kalyani said the government’s failure to act in earlier cases involving coalition MLAs Arava Sridhar, Koneti Adimulam and Nazeer, TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Minister Sandhya Rani’s personal assistant had encouraged such misconduct. She also criticised Pawan Kalyan for remaining silent despite his earlier claims that he would act firmly against anyone who harmed women.
She demanded immediate protection for the NRI woman, an independent forensic investigation, public disclosure of the findings and the Minister’s removal from the Cabinet, stating that the government’s silence had once again exposed its complete lack of commitment to women’s safety.
