Tadepalli, May 24: Former Minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani), speaking at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, fiercely criticized the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) upcoming Mahanadu in Kadapa, labeling it “Daganadu” (Event of Deception).
He criticised TDP leader N. Chandrababu Naidu failing to deliver any tangible benefits to Andhra Pradesh’s people in the past year, a fact starkly evident in the party’s mini-Mahanadu events, which have turned into platforms for venting frustration. “TDP MLAs and leaders are openly expressing their dismay, admitting they’ve let down the voters,” Nani stated, pointing to a senior TDP MLA publicly seeking forgiveness for the party’s failures.
Nani slammed the state’s descent into custodial torture and political vendettas, asserting that Andhra Pradesh has become a hub for police harassment and fabricated cases.
Naidu concocting a liquor case to target YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy without evidence, using media outlets like Eenadu and Andhra Jyothi to spread daily falsehoods. “From Vijay Sai Reddy to Raj Keshireddy, and now YS Jagan, they’re weaving baseless narratives to settle political scores,” he charged. Nani also criticized Naidu’s economic mismanagement, stating that while promising wealth creation, the TDP government has squandered public funds on luxuries like helicopters and vegetables flown in by plane.
Further, Nani called out Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for betraying the film industry by ordering probes against theater owners to favor his own film’s release, contradicting his earlier stance against government interference in cinema. “This is bankrupt politics,” he declared, urging the public to hold the TDP accountable for its deceptive governance and broken promises.
