Govt’s gross negligence in YS Jagan’s security

Tadepalli, April 9: Former Chief Whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy criticized the coalition government for its gross negligence in securing former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his Ramagiri visit.
Speaking at the Party central office, he accused the government of political vengeance and failing to provide basic security, slamming the Home Minister’s cover-up attempts. He disputed claims of 1,100 police personnel deployed, noting the damaged helicopter windshield as evidence of lapses.
Srikanth Reddy said YS Jagan, with Z-plus security, was left vulnerable at Papireddipalli helipad due to poor crowd control despite prior notice of his visit to console a murdered YSRCP leader’s family. The chaotic situation forced YS Jagan to return by road after the helicopter was deemed unfit. He stated that Home Minister Anitha was lying about 200 police at the helipad and challenged her explanation.
He claimed the coalition government is weakening the police, turning it into a tool for political interests, with over 200 officials denied postings and harassed. He urged police associations to address this, stressing that YS Jagan respects lawful officers but not those serving political ends. Srikanth Reddy highlighted past neglect of YS Jagan’s security, unlike the YSRCP’s full protection for Chandrababu Naidu, warning of risks from miscreants and affirming YSRCP’s intent to complain to the central government and take legal action.
