Government trembles at YS Jagan’s Narsipatnam visit

Tadepalli, October 7: YSRCP senior leader and former minister Kurasala Kannababu strongly condemned the ruling government for creating deliberate hurdles to obstruct the visit of YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to Narsipatnam on October 9. He clarified that there is no change in the programme and YS Jagan will travel from Visakhapatnam Airport to Narsipatnam Medical College by road, as heavy rains in North Andhra make helicopter travel unsafe. “No amount of restrictions, notices, or intimidation can stop YS Jagan’s tour,” he asserted.
Kannababu criticized the police and government for failing to ensure proper arrangements for a leader who has Z-plus security cover. “If the police say they cannot provide security to a Z-plus protectee, it is nothing but an admission that there is no law and order in the state. The government is panicking at the massive public response YS Jagan is receiving and is trying to suppress him through threats and restrictions,” he said.
He recalled how, as Opposition Leader, Chandrababu Naidu carried out several tours in Kandukur, Guntur, and Pileru where stampedes took place, yet governments then did not impose restrictions. “Why is the government trembling now whenever YS Jagan tours the state?” he questioned.
Kannababu also pointed out that YS Jagan had sanctioned 17 government medical colleges to strengthen public health and education, while Chandrababu is now trying to hand over these institutions to private players, causing irreversible damage to future generations. He added that welfare schemes introduced by YS Jagan are being deliberately dismantled by the present regime. “Despite all obstacles, YS Jagan’s Narsipatnam tour will go ahead. The police must rethink their stand and act responsibly,” Kannababu concluded.
