TDP Ruined State Economy

YSR Congress Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy
Hyderabad: Accusing Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of ruining the State economy, YSR Congress Party MLA G Srikanth Reddy said arrears to the tune of whopping Rs 3.5 lakh crore were still pending with the government, leaving the welfare of students, women, small-time employees, traders among others in jeopardy.
Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Reddy alleged that the Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP government had used its time in the government to favour those contractors who were close to them. “In payment of bills, Chandrababu favoured those contractors who gave funds to TDP. In fact, a large amount of government funds were diverted to TDP programmes,” he added.
He asked why the chief secretary couldn’t hold a review meeting when so many people in the State were suffering due to the non-payment of funds. Terming the tiff between the TDP government and chief secretary uncalled for, he alleged that the rift was mainly to use the available time for them to transfer huge amounts of money to contractors who were close to TDP leadership.
“Why there is a need for holding a Cabinet meeting at this point in time when the election results are just 10 days away,” he wondered.
The YSR Congress said that the Finance Department under the TDP government had been made completely non-functional, especially with the Central Financial Management System (CFMS) destroyed.
On the issue of Andhra Pradesh Road Transportation Corporation (APSRTC) employees mulling a strike, the YSR Congress leader alleged that it was TDP that had brought the organisation into losses. The TDP government had used RTC for ferrying TDP supporters for various party programmes without paying the institution.
“Currently RTC should get arrears to the tune of Rs 10 crore from the TDP. Besides, the wrong policies of the TDP government have also put RTC’s existence in jeopardy,” he added. He said that the YSR Congress Party would help RTC regain its strength financially and help it to serve the passengers in a better way.
