Tadepalli, April 17: YSRCP spokesperson Putta Shiva Shankar raised serious concerns over the deteriorating situation in lAndhra Pradesh under the TDP-led coalition. He said unseasonal rains have devastated horticulturecrops, especially mango and banana, in Rayalaseema, Nuzvid, and Godavari districts, leaving farmers helpless without minimum support prices or compensation.
Despite the scale of the crisis, CM Chandrababu Naidu, the Deputy CM, and ministers have not visited a single affected farmer. With Rythu Bharosa halted, farmers are left without investment support.
Industries too are under threat, with industrialists being harassed by the ruling party MLAs. Jindal has exited the state, and firms like UltraTech Cement face pressure for commissions, making it hard even for running industries to survive.
Shiva Shankar also condemned the ruling leaders’ extravagance. While farmers suffer, students are denied hall tickets and fee reimbursement, and patients lack access to treatment due to stalled Aarogyasri. Meanwhile, the CM plans a foreign birthday trip, and top leaders are flying to Hyderabad every weekend on special flights, totally disconnected from people’s struggles.
He demanded immediate relief for farmers, release of pending funds for students and health schemes, and steps to protect industries. The YSRCP, he said, will continue to fight for the people’s rights
