Ex-insider’s criticism, hypocritical

Visakhapatnam, March 13: Former minister and Visakhapatnam District YSRCP President Gudivada Amarnath clarified that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s "coterie" consists of his admirers and dedicated YSRCP workers who served the party for 15 years. Responding to Vijayasai Reddy’s recent remarks in Vijayawada, Amarnath called it ironic for a former insider to criticize the group, urging him to reflect on his role as a close aide. 
He noted that coterie exists everywhere, including around TDP’s Chandrababu Naidu, and said it’s inappropriate for ex-members to comment. Amarnath highlighted Vijayasai Reddy’s shift from vowing to quit politics for agriculture to signaling a return, quipping, “A broken heart here means new love elsewhere.” He questioned if critics like Reddy would have spoken out had YSRCP won the last election.
Amarnath also slammed the coalition government for failing to deliver on promises to students and youth, citing YSRCP-led protests. He accused it of neglecting welfare schemes like pensions and fee reimbursements, noting that only Rs. 700 crore of Rs. 3,900 crore due annually was paid, leaving Rs. 7,100 crore pending over two years against a mere Rs. 2,600 crore allocation. He criticized the government for blaming YSRCP to hide its incompetence and reaffirmed the party’s focus on accountability in education and healthcare.
