YSRCP Employees’ Union State President Chandrasekhar Reddy
Tadepalli, April 12: YSRCP Employees’ Union State President Chandrasekhar Reddy criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for weakening the Secretariat system and planning to terminate 20,000 employees. He called it unjust for a government that promised jobs and unemployment benefits before taking office to now pursue layoffs.
Chandrasekhar Reddy condemned the unfair division of Secretariat employees into three categories and the overburdening of Village Revenue Officers (VROs) by assigning them to multiple Secretariats. He criticized the government’s failure to appoint Panchayat secretaries, which further undermined the system. He urged the government to preserve the Gram and Ward Secretariat systems, essential for grassroots governance.
Chandrasekhar Reddy also denounced TDP MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao for his derogatory behavior toward government employees. Rao publicly insulted a sanitary worker with offensive terms like “rascal” and “donkey,” questioning their work ethic. Reddy stressed that while mistakes warrant disciplinary action, public humiliation is unacceptable. He noted Rao’s lack of political grounding, with no consistent party or constituency base, yet he continues to demean officials. He highlighted Rao’s failure to address stalled development works and recalled a prior incident where Rao insulted schoolteachers.
Regarding Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, who oversees the department handling volunteers, Reddy questioned Kalyan’s awareness of government orders or volunteer salary payments. Kalyan made misleading statements to deceive volunteers, whose critical role was evident during the Budameru floods. Chandrasekhar Reddy demanded accountability and fairness for employees and volunteers, urging the government to honor its commitments and strengthen administrative systems.
