CM lambasts Naidu for disinformation

Machilipatnam, May 6: In a fierce attack against TDP president Chandrababu Naidu and his friendly media for unleashing disinformation campaign on key issues, Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that they have stooped so low to disseminate falsehood unmindful of the fact that it destroys the stature of the State.
Addressing a huge public meeting here on Monday, the Chief Minister said that TDP and its friendly media have gone full throttle to spread disinformation spoiling the name of Andhra Pradesh.
Referring to the aqua container seized in Visakhapatnam a few weeks ago, he said the yellow media published news stories saying that it contained drugs worth Rs. 2 lakh crore and it belonged to the YSRCP and the yellow media fell silent after it was revealed that it belonged to the relatives of BJP leader Purandheswari.
He further took objection to the malicious campaign that said all kirana shops across the State are selling ganja packets.
On the disinformation campaign launched against the AP Land Titling Act by the TDP through phone calls and messages, he said that even the TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav highlighted the importance of the Act in the Assembly and the good it would to the land holders.
ETV also recently telecast a programme on the importance of the Land Titling Act and the impending benefits to the farmers once it is implemented, he said, adding that TDP and the biased media now opted to spread disinformation to reap electoral benefits by discrediting Jagan and YSRCP.
Explaining further, he said that the Act was meant to give guarantee on a permanent basis on the disputes-free ownership of land to the landholders by updating records, mutations and subdivisions, and in the event of disputes, the owners would be paid compensation and insurance.
For this reason, Government has taken up resurvey after 100 years to set right the records and save time and money to the land holders who are suffering from litigations, he clarified, adding the resurvey, being undertaken by nearly 15,000 surveyors, has been completed in 6000 villages and would be completed in the next two years in the rest of the revenue villages.
Government has also spent Rs. 2000 crores on having GPS enabled boundary stones and Rovers used in the survey, he stated, asking the people not to be misled by the lies, deceitfulness of Naidu and his friendly media.
While this is the main purpose of the Act, Naidu has stooped further low to discredit the Government and Jagan through lies and falsehood. TDP is also forcing transfers of some of the officials to trouble Jagan.
He said the Rs. 5100 crore worth Machilipatnam Port works are in rapid progress and assured the public that the Rs. 7200crore disputed lands in the 14 coastal villages near Machilipatnam, pending for the last 30 or 40 years, would be solved and the lands would be distributed after his swearing-in-ceremony.
