*Chandrababu rebrands YS Jagan’s land survey, wastes public money*

Tadepalli, July 9: YSRCP State Official Spokesperson Putta Shivashankar strongly criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for attempting to rebrand and claim credit for the comprehensive land survey initiated during the Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government. Addressing the media at Tadepalli on July 9, 2026, he said the same leaders who once promised to cancel the comprehensive land survey are now implementing the very same system and presenting it as their own achievement.

He said the coalition government has done nothing new for farmers and is merely changing the colour of pattadar passbooks to create false political credit. The technology, systems and administrative foundation brought in by YS Jagan government are now being repackaged by Chandrababu, while the coalition government has also accepted the Rs. 397 crore incentive given by the Centre for the comprehensive land survey. Instead of acknowledging Jagan’s work, the present government is reprinting the same passbooks at higher cost and wasting public money.

Putta Shivashankar said the YS Jagan government laid the real foundation for protecting farmers’ land rights through the comprehensive land survey, which had received appreciation from NITI Aayog and other states. He alleged that Chandrababu is converting government programmes into political stages and using them only to attack the opposition, while failing to solve farmers’ actual problems. He further said the coalition government has made the 22A land issues more complicated instead of resolving them.
He asserted that the comprehensive land survey was Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s reform, and Chandrababu Naidu is only indulging in credit theft. “There is nothing new being done for farmers. Chandrababu is only putting a new colour on the work already completed by the Jagan government,” he said.
