Tadepalli, April 8: YSRCP State Employees and Pensioners Wing President, N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, lashed out at the alliance government for its betrayal of the volunteer system introduced by former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He recalled that 2.66 lakh volunteers were appointed to deliver welfare services directly to people’s doorsteps.
Chandrasekhar Reddy said that CM Chandrababu Naidu had promised on Ugadi to increase the volunteer honorarium from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 and continue the system but has now gone back on his word. He criticized the government for using volunteers during the Vijayawada floods and discarding them afterward.
He slammed Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for calling the volunteer system unauthentic, terming his statements baseless and ignorant. Chandrasekhar demanded that the government immediately fulfill its promise of Rs. 10,000 honorarium and stop using police force against volunteers who try to raise their voice.
Highlighting employee concerns, he said the government has failed to announce the PRC even after 11 months in power and has not implemented the promised Interim Relief (IR). He also pointed to the unfulfilled job calendar and lack of action on private employee regularization.
He urged the government to address pending DA, PRC, and IR issues in the upcoming Cabinet meeting and deliver on promises made to employees and the unemployed.
