Visakhapatnam, Feb 21: YSRCP has reiterated that Chief Minister Chandrbabu Naidu has no sincerity in coming to the rescue of chilli farmers in distress and is evident from recent flip-flop statements.
Speaking to media here on Friday, Party MLC Botcha Satyaarayana said, Chandrababu has started talking about mirchi farmers only after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy raised the issue and went to Guntur Mirchi Yard and interacted with farmers.
With the issue being highlighted very much and the government facing flak, he shot a letter in a face saving exercise and said that he is going to Delhi to meet the union minister.
The fact remains that the Union Agriculture minister was not in Delhi, nor did Chadnarbabu went to the national capital for that purpose. His visit to Delhi was to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the BJP Chief Minister and in fact the concerned minister was not there.
This shows how manipulative Chandrababu is. He should have taken steps much ahead of the crisis to stabilize the prices and when the issue was blown out he started his publicity burst which is very incoherent. Chandrababu consistently maintains his anti-farmer stand without any let-up.
He took strong objection to the comments made on YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Mirchi Yard visit and said he was there on a public issue to interact with farmers.
As their Party was not contesting the elections, the question of election code not arise. A few days before a musical programme was held despite the election code, he said.
