Chandrababu, always anti-farmer

Tadepalli, September 22: Former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy criticized Chandrababu Naidu for his anti-farmer stance and lack of moral courage to accept that his government failed in providing urea to farmers.

Speaking to media here on Monday, he said instead of accepting his government's failure to supply urea to farmers in the required quantity, he has been blaming farmers for the excess use of urea. He started telling that using more urea for crops would lead to cancer and asked them to curtail its use.

He and the agriculture minister have been making incoherent claims on urea to mislead farmers, he said. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has given MSP to all crops and has established the Price Stabilization Fund to ensure that farmers get their due. In contrast, there is a sharp slide in prices of all crops from tobacco to mirchi to onions now.

While this is the reality, he has been making tall claims about agriculture which look ridiculous, he said. He also made tall claims on drip irrigation and tried to take credit for things he doesn't deserve.

While it was Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and earlier Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy who gave water for the second crop under Somasila, Chandrababu had never done it and is only making false claims, he said, adding that farmers are in distress under the coalition government.
