Brutal attack on temple Priest reflects complete collapse of kaw and irder: Ponnada Satish Kumar

Kakinada, Jan 12: Former MLA Ponnada Venkata Satish Kumar strongly condemned the brutal attack on Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple priest Sundara Seetharamaiah Sharma at Jaggipeta in Thallarevu mandal, describing it as an inhuman and unforgivable crime that shames a civilised society. After visiting the severely injured priest, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kakinada, Satish Kumar told the media that attacking a poor priest who survives on temple service is a despicable act and that the use of a sharp weapon clearly reflects the criminal intent of the assailant. He objected to attempts to shield the accused — the son of a TDP village leader — by citing mental instability, and asserted that such excuses cannot be used to dilute grave crimes. He demanded strict punishment for the आरोपी.
He said that since the coalition government came to power, Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing a complete breakdown of law and order, with the so-called “red book constitution” creating an atmosphere of fear where even women, children and temple servants are unsafe. He noted that the priest, who belongs to a poor Brahmin family and lives under financial distress, deserved protection and support from the government, not violence. Satish Kumar further stated that a series of incidents in temples — including the Tirupati stampede, deaths of innocent devotees at Simhachalam, and other recent episodes across the state — expose the government’s failure and the patronage extended to offenders by coalition leaders. He warned that if strict action is not taken in this case, the people will deliver a fitting response to this government in the days to come.
