Nellore, Feb 22: Affirming that its stand is vindicated on SECI agreement, YSRCP has said that TDP and its friendly media stand exposed on the issue for spinning baseless stories all the time targeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his governance.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, former minister Kakani Goverdhan Reddy said, the regulatory body APERC has given its nod to the SECI agreement of buying solar power made during the YS JAgan Mohan Reddy government and its slap on the face of the TDP and its friendly media that has doled out story after story levelling baseless allegations.
DISCOMs had never before entered into such an agreement earlier and it is the initiative of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that has benefitted the State Rs 1.10 lakh crore. but Chandarbabu had been telling that the State is losing Rs 87,500 crore due to the agreement with SECI.
There were numerous attempts to discredit YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to cover up the misdeeds of Chandarbabu Naidu and the APERC statement has set the record straight, he said.
The agreement with SECI was done by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, keeping in view the farmers requirement in view, he said. By purchasing the power at Rs 2.49 per unit, the State stands to beneit Rs Rs 1.10 lakh crores which is wealth creation, he said.
APERC has endorsed the 7,000 MW purchase agreement stating that they are within the purview of the guidelines of the aggregate revenue requirement (ARR). For the year 2025-26 DISCOMs sought permission to buy 4,000 MW solar power from the State Regulatory body, he said.
This makes the issue clear and our stand is vindicated while Chandarbabu and his coterie has lost face on the issue, he said.
On earlier occasion, Chandrababu had purchased for higher rate and burdened over Rs 87, 500 crore. TDP has been levelling false and baseless allegations on YSRCP through its media about transmission losses, bribes and other issues which were not there, he said.
