3 social media activists abducted on false charges

Tadepalli, Sep 24:YSRCP Legal Cell State President Manohar Reddy today lashed out at the coalition government and the police for unleashing a wave of illegal detentions, false cases, and harassment of social media activists.
He said that in just three days, three activists – Savindra Reddy, Tarak Pratap Reddy, and Surya (Sai) Bhargav – were abducted by plainclothes police, their families were kept in dark, and false cases foisted. “This is a systematic conspiracy to silence those questioning the privatization of medical colleges,” he charged.
Manohar Reddy cited the case of Savindra, who was picked up in a blue car, his wife’s complaint ignored, and even the 100 helpline not answered despite seven calls. Only after a Habeas Corpus petition did the High Court intervene. The court exposed how the police tried to mislead it with a fabricated ganja case and false remand report, questioned violations of Supreme Court arrest guidelines, and ordered CCTV and tower records. “The High Court was shocked, but the police remain unrepentant,” he said.
At the same time, Tarak went missing near Manipal Hospital after calling a friend, and Bhargav was taken from his home in Anantapur after hours of interrogation. “Families don’t even know where they are. This is police raj,” Manohar Reddy said.
He accused the government of using “diversion politics” – liquor scam theatrics yesterday, false arrests today – to cover up failures. He also condemned false cases on journalists, Sakshi offices, and even YSRCP legal cell representatives.
“Those responsible will face the courts. Neither police nor coalition leaders can escape accountability,” he warned.
