Congress can’t beat Jagan phenomenon

Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has opined that the
Congress has given more berths for AP in its recent Union Cabinet expansion due
to the Jagan phenomenon.
In an editorial in Siva Sena daily Saamana, Thackeray said
the Congress has distributed its cabinet largesse to AP with a view to
overshadow the growing mass popularity of YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan
Mohan Reddy.
The only aim in distributing more berths for the AP is to
face the Jagan phenomenon in the next elections, he observed, adding that actor
Chiranjeevi was rewarded with the minister’s post in response to the merging of
his party with the Congress.
Thackeray, however, opined that this exercise may not
produce the expected results to the AP’s ruling party which is on the brink.
This is not first time that Bal Thackeray has talked about
the Jagan phenomenon in the Saamana editorial. Following the YSRCP’s win in 15
assembly constituencies in the June by-elections, Thackeray in an editorial
said that the jailing of Jagan has boomeranged on the Congress Party in the
state.
The editorial said that Congress has harassed Jagan after
the death of YSR and jailed him to ensure that he would not be among the masses
during by-elections but the people taught a fitting lesson to the ruling
establishment.
