Chandrababu Has Been Proved ' Anti Farmer' CM Again

Although AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu claimed he changed his mindset and recognised Agriculture was the lifeline for rural economy in Andhra Pradesh during 2014 election campaign,  the efforts made  in strengthening the farming sector has shown the CM's indifference.

In a stark example of his negligent attitude towards addressing the farmers plights, the chief minister had yet to complete the Handri Neeva project taken up to fetch drinking water and irrigation facility in the Rayalaseema districts.

People's leader and Former Chief minister of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy conceived plan for Handri Neeva at the cost of Rs 6,850 crore to provide irrigation facility in 4.04 lakh acres and drinking water supply to 33 lakh people. YSR completed first stage works and 50 percent second stage works.

After Chandrababu assumed CM office in 2014, project works came to a grinding halt. On the other hand, the project estimations were also escalated and misused money. The TDP leader laid foundation for the Handri project in 1996 but no works were taken up until YSR took the reigns in 2004.
