YSRCP flays Naidu

Press Release

Hyderabad, April 10, 2013: Taking strong objection to N Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks on the statues of YSR and NTR, YSR Congress has said the TDP leader has been using double standards and changing his stance constantly to suit the situation.

‘People have volunteered to erect YSR statues as they have immensely benefitted with his welfare schemes, while Chandrababu Naidu has a past that scares the common man,’ party spokesperson Janak Prasad told reporters here on Wednesday.

Chandrababu Naidu during his padayatra has been speaking about statues of YSR which were set up by locals as YSR has implemented schemes that benefitted farmers, students, women, weavers and other sections of the society.

Aarogyasri, free power, fees reimbursement, pavala vaddi and other schemes made him a towering leader and people have shown their gratitude by erecting YSR statues. Chandrababu Naidu on the other hand, has a past of harassing farmers by increasing power charges and taking penal action against defaulters and his policies have driven many people to suicides.

Chandrababu Naidu has now changed the tune and is all praise for NTR, whom he had overthrown in a bloodless coup and has usurped the party and chief minister post from him. TDP founder president NTR in an interview to a national magazine had dubbed Naidu as a power monger who has no moral values.

“With the going getting tougher, Naidu is trying to invoke NTR but people have a good memory. How he ill-treated his father-in-law is a known fact to all,” he said.

Neither the praise of NTR nor the criticism of YSR could fetch him any political mileage as TDP did not win a single by-election and lost deposit at many places.
During the padayatra, Naidu has been telling blatant lies and playing to the gallery too often. However, people are not impressed as he has nothing great to speak about his nine-year term and his tall promises for the future could not impress the people as he lacks credibility, he said
