YSRCP seeks clarity on voting on T bill

Press Release

Hyderabad, Jan 15, 2014: Describing the situation in the assembly as chaotic with no clarity on whether or not there will be voting on the clauses to the State Reorganisation Bill, YSR Congress has said why the Chief Minister, Leader of Opposition and PCC President did not give any amendments to the draft Bill.

“Our Party has a clear stand that we are for a untied state and will participate in voting, if there is one, but no one is in a position to tell about the proceedings of the legislature and why N Kiran Kumar Reddy who has been boasting of being champion of Samaikyandhra cause and Chandrababu Naidu along with Botsa Satyanrayana did not move any amendments to the draft Bill,” party spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar told reporters here on Wednesday.

Instead of openly telling their stand on the draft Bill, they have been targeting YSR Congress and have been leveling allegations that we are not interested in the debate. We have given amendments to all the clauses while Chief Minister, TDP President and PCC chief did not give even a single suggestion.

When the division itself is an arrogant move of the Delhi to belittle Telugu people, we find no point in taking part in the debate, but we will participate in voting as and when it takes place, he said. We have in place the strategy to be adopted in the next phase of assembly session beginning on January 17 and we firmly believe that the Bill is against the federal spirit.

Our leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has travelled across the country from West Bengal to Maharashtra and from Tamil Nadu to Punjab to Tamil Nadu seeking the support of leaders of national and regional parties while the local Congress and TDP leaders are yet to state their stand and are found wanting when it matters most as Kiran Kumar Reddy, Botsa Satyanarayana and N Chandrababu Naidu are hardly seen in the Assembly, he said.

They do not express their views, though they need to have a view on such an important issue, and do not play an active role in the assembly which amounts to deceiving the people as they are not reflecting the feelings of the majority of the populace of the state.

They even do not attend the BAC meeting where the assembly proceedings are broadly drafted. Kiran Kumar Reddy who has given a power-point presentation and Naidu who has been encouraging his party cadre to speak out according to their respective regional affiliations are making a mockery of parliamentary democracy, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu, who is gazing from both sides of the fence, has been paranoid and fears YSRCP to the extent that even when he was on a holiday to spend some time at his home town to meet his old friends and teachers, he was speaking against YSR and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP leader should remember that his own uncle has earlier said that one should emulate YSR for governance as farmers are happy in his term.

The confusion of TDP leader sends wrong signals and if he is unable to lead the Party with a uniform policy and keep his flock together, it is time for him to call it a day and keep away from public life, he said.
