Taking strong objection to State Finance Minister AnamRamnaryana Reddy’s remarks aimed at YSR’s family members, YSR Congress Party on Thursday said his language is unbecoming of his position.
“The party has degraded morally and is trying to catch the eye of Party High Command by abusing YSR and his family members. This is evident by his remarks on YS Vijayamma. He skipped the pointed questions she asked and resorted to personal attack which is unfair,” Party Political Affairs Committee leader, Konatala Ramakrishna told reporters here.
The minister, who said that the Government cannot function for one individual or one family, took pains to dole out data that welfare schemes are better placed now than in YSR rule, but reality is out in the open as the questions raised by Ms Vijayamma were conveniently left out, he said.
When the High Court has made the State Government also a party in the PIL filed by Dr P Shankar Rao in the 26 GOs case, no action was initiated from the cabinet. The Advocate General should have put forth the Government version as well.
“When the decision was taken by the cabinet, some of the members are still continuing as ministers and legislators of the House and how only YSR could be blamed was the question Ms Vijayamma raised and there is no proper reply,” he said.
The two main poll promises of increasing free power from seven to nine hours and providing 30 kg rice were totally ignored and there is no mention in the minister’s reply which drew flak from other parties, he said adding that the minister’s language on parenting and nepotism is uncalled for.
When asked about the by-polls in Telangana, he said the party has taken a decision not to field a candidate against those who resigned for a cause.
On Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s campaign at Kovur, he said, the electioneering will be taken up in two phases.
“In the first phase, he will tour the constituency on March 4, 5 and 6. In the second spell, he will campaign on March 14 and 15,” he said adding that YSRC candidate N Prasanna Kumar Reddy will come out will flying colours in the by-elections.
