YSR Congress Party on Saturday demanded the State Government to take action against Ramoji Rao for his shady land dealings and for occupying assigned lands.
“The Revenue officials have made it clear in the enquiry that Ramoji Film City has 60 acres of assigned land which qualifies him for penal action,” party spokesperson GattuRamachandra Rao told reporters here.
From Abdullapur to Anajpur he has occupied a big stretch of land and harassed farmers forcing them to sell it on one hand and encroaching land with connivance of Telugu Desam on the other, he said adding that the land on which the entry gate of Film City is located belongs to a retired Police Inspector who has moved the court.
When the affected parties formed a Land Struggle Committee to fight Ramoji Rao, YSR has set up a committee to look into the issue. The present Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was member of the committee. With the Joint Collector declaring that the Film City has 60.01acres of assigned land, the State should take penal action against Ramoji Rao, he said.
“While Congress and TDP are working for mutual benefit, can the State slap a notice on the person who is serving like a bridge between the two newfound friends is a difficult question, but we demand that action should be taken against Ramoji Rao,” he said.
He acquired land on the pretext of rearing sheep and built the Film City and it has been his character as was evident from the cases registered against him in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, Rao said.
