People won’t believe
Naidu: YSRCP
Hyderabad,
September 28: YSRCP Minority Cell Convenor Habbeb Abul Rehman has reiterated
that Muslims are not in a position to believe N Chandrababu Naidu as his past
carries the scar of being associated with fundamentalists while the community
has benefited enormously with the YSR welfare schemes.
Speaking
to media here on Friday, he said: “It was YSR who introduced 4 per cent
reservations and Chandrababu Naidu’s association with BJP and NDA is still
fresh in the memories of Muslims and his sudden turn-around to appease the
community will yield no fruits as he drifted away from us.”
We
cannot forget the demolishing of Babri Masjid and TDP extending support to
BJP-led NDA government and Muslims cannot trust the tall promises being made by
N Chandrababu Naidu. Be it the Money Transfer Scheme or 15 seats to Minorities,
we are not prepared to believe him, he said.
“We
have benefited from the schemes introduced by YSR and the community is in total
support to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said adding that TDP will continue its
losing streak in the 2014 elections as well.
Addressing
a separate press conference, MLA Srinivasulu and N Surya Prakash said: “former
chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu has been rousing regional and caste
passions in the name of mass contact programmes.
We
appeal to the former Chief Minister to resurrect and strengthen his Party in a
positive way but not to play caste politics and whip up regional passions in
the name of padayatra. TDP’s earlier declarations carry no weight as during the
nine years, while Chandrababu Naidu was chief minister, no effort was made to
strengthen the marginalised sections of society.
“He
has mishandled the categorisation of SCs, BC reservation and social issues and
has no faith in democracy. People will not believe his promises,” they said adding
that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will be coming out soon and lead the Party to a
tremendous victory.
