YSR Congress party on Saturday demanded a House Committee probe into the land allotments of State Government from 1993, the year that ushered in liberalization, privatization and globalization.
“We demand a thorough probe into all land allotments from 1993 by a House Committee or by a sitting judge instead of a selective period to target YSR term,” YSR Congress Party spokesperson JupudiPrabhakar told reporters here.
The CAG report mentioning about the land allotments from 2006 to 2011 gives only half the picture while a thorough inquiry into the issue from 1993 will bring facts into the open and a comparison could be drawn between the TDP, YSR and the present Congress terms, he said.
Flaying N Chandrababu Naidu for his double speak in the ongoing CBI inquiry, he said, the TDP leader had once termed CBI as the Congress Bureau of Investigation and when it came to the 26 GOs issue he started praising the investigation agency.
When things were going on smooth for him and his agenda of tarnishing the image of YS Jagan was being fulfilled, he described CBI as an independent and competent agency, now he expressing doubts about the investigation as there was no action against Jagan on part of CBI, he said.
Chandrababu Naidu is in frustration as he has been losing election after election from Kadapa to Kovor and cadre is deserting him, he said. “He is busy in trying to save his own party and has openly said that the party is not in a position to face elections every now and then. This shows that he is scared of elections and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.”
TDP voting has come down from 47 per cent to 25 and now stands at the lowest of 8 percent which is an indication of the popularity of the party and the leader, he said.
