Babu, Kiran ignored Chittoor

Addressing a large public meeting here today, YS VIjayamma took strong objection to his remark that MLAs are joining YSCP taking a package. “What package did you take while defecting to TDP from Congress?, she asked and made light of his tall claims on development.

Being the Chief Minister for nearly nine years, he had done nothing to the district. One thing what he had done was to destroy the Chittoor dairy which was running in huge profits. He had done this to benefit Heritage Foods, run by his family members and went on to become the richest politician, as described by a leading magazine. Even now, I ask him what he has done to Chittoor district.

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who also hails from this district and his contribution is zero and he has driven farmers to a desperate position where they are forced to declare a crop holiday, she said adding that Chief Minister is trying to sell out the Rs 300-crore Chittoor Dairy to his close associates for a paltry Rs 149 crores. Steep hike in power tariff, gas prices and bus charges and burdening the common man is the only achievement of this Chief Minister, she said.

Nearly 65 per cent of the population depend on agriculture and power cuts are so severe that they are unable to draw water and with 16 days power cuts in a month, industries are being shut down rendering many people jobless. All sections of the society are unhappy with the governance of the Kiran Kuamr Reddy, she said.  

YSR on the other hand had brought in Jalayagnam with a cost of Rs 51,000 crore to provide water to 2 lakh acres through 86 projects.

Handri Niva project got a fillip only in the YSR regime and he had completed nearly 95 per cent of the work. It took nearly three years for the Congress Government to complete the rest and it is pity that it was inaugurated in a hurry and YSR was remembered during the inauguration.

Chandrababu Naidu on the other hand despite claiming that he has clout at the Centre during United Front and NDA government, could not bring a single project nor an industry to the district nor the state as he had a personal agenda to fulfill.

He has been working hand in glove with Congress and the two parties are working to safeguard each other. While TDP is coming to the rescue to the Congress, even in the recent FDI voting, the Centre right from United Front days has been shielding him on various corruption charges.

Even in the State, he is on a save Congress mission without moving a no confidence motion and in return he is untouched by any investigation agency. I feel sad when I look at the state of political affairs in the state, she said.

Congress and TDP had ganged up and put Jagan Mohan Reddy in jail. They sacrificed Mopidevi Venkataramana and the government is applying double standards as its approach in dealing with another tainted minister Dharmana Prasad Rao is different.

For YSR and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy all regions be it Chittor, Srikakulam or Adilabad are the same, she said.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will come out clean and he will fulfill all the promises of YSR and usher in a welfare state as no section is happy with the Congress rule, she said.
