Praja Sankalpa Yatra Reaches Proddatur

Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy reached Proddatur assembly constituency this afternoon.

Thousands of people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of YS Jagan, with many of them hoping to interact with him and share their anguish relating to countless problems they are facing under the Chandrababu Naidu dispensation, particularly the drinking water crisis that the town is reeling under. Another long-standing demand of the local population has been the setting up of a steel plant near Proddatur, a proposal which has not picked up any pace after the demise of the late Dr. YS Rajashekhar Reddy. Students, hospital employees, handloom workers and teachers in particular are pinning their hopes on YS Jagan's intervention for the redressal of their grievances.

The enthusiasm of the local populace in preparing to welcome him has been so boundless that Ammavari Veedhi along which the YSRCP chief is set to enter the town has been strewn with flowers for him to tread upon.

He was welcomed by the local MLA Rachamallu Prasad. Earlier, YS Jagan had unfurled the party flag, met with members of the Valmiki and Boya Sangha community, as also contract lecturers, VRA representatives and RTC workers, employees of 108 services, and those from AP Genco and AP Transco. The Leader of the Opposition has been lending a patient ear to people from all walks of life even as he continues to be mobbed by a sea of humanity, as a result of which his walkathon here has slowed down to some extent.

The Padayatra is scheduled to reach Puttaparthi Circle soon where a mammoth crowd awaits their leader.
