YSR’s Welfare Programmes Made Him Great Leader

Hyderabad: Telangana YSR Congress Party president Gattu Srikanth Reddy praised the contribution of late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and said that his welfare schemes have made him a great leader. He was the person who came up with welfare schemes that none in the country had initiated. Talking to media persons after participating in YS Jayanti celebrations in party headquarters here today, he said it was because of Dr YSR’s welfare programmes that he was being called as Rajanna and was adored by the people in both the Telugu states.

Srikanth Reddy said until Dr YSR, all the rulers of the state had ignored Telangana. The people's leader worked for Telangana development. Irrigation projects, Rs 2 per kg rice, housing for the poor, free electricity and loan waiver for farmers were among the welfare schemes that have impacted the lives of the poor and brought cheers among the people, he said.

He further said, though Pranahita and Palamuru projects have been changed names now, their foundations were laid by Dr YSR. Elections were round the corner, resurgence of Rajanna Rajyam was possible only if YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was made the Chief Minister.
