Eluru: YSRCongress party will stand up for the AgriGold victims assured YSRCP Eluru Parliamentary constituency in-charge Ravuri Prasada Rao. He revealed the data pertaining to the victims and said a total of 19.20 lakh people have been victimized by AgriGold, of which 1.16 lakh are in West Godavari district. The TDP government is more concerned about the assets of AgriGold rather than the victims he said. YSRCP leader quoted the government numbers and said of 260 victims, who committed suicide only 143 have been paid ex-gratia by the AP government.
He recalled that it was YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who fought for the victims in the Assembly. He questioned the government on its inaction though the assets of AgriGold company are valued at Rs 30 thousand crores. He said in support of the victims AgriGold victims asara committee has been put in place by YSRCP, which is going to conduct relay hunger strike in the Mandals all across the state on 22nd, 23rd of December. If the government does not come up with a clear action plan, on 30th December the party would undertake protests in the District headquarters across the state, he said.
