Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party took strong objection to government decision to close down 9,000 government schools in the state on pretext of lack of teachers and students. Party official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma wondered how the government takes such decision when literacy rate in the state is falling down drastically.
Instead of taking steps to improve the literacy rate and improve the educations standards to attract students the government issued a GO closing down 9,000 ‘non- profit making’ schools at a stroke, she ridiculed. Do the government apply same yardstick and close down RTC and sold out public sector properties, the YSRCP leader quipped.
