Hyderabad,
May 30, 2014: YSR Congress Party would hold review meetings from June 4 to take stock
of its performance in the recent multiple elections and chalk out the future
course of action to further strengthen the party and take forward the agenda of
playing the role of a constructive opposition party.
“Our
Party President , YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will chair the review meetings, which
will be based on the reports of the three-member committees that has
given the district-wise assessment on the poll results,” party senior leader Dr
MV Mysoora Reddy told reporters here on Friday.
The
analysis will be worked out threadbare to assess the shortcomings and the
issues that have reflected in the results from general elections to Mandal
level polls. The constituency level meetings will be attended by the Assembly,
ZPTC and Mandal level candidates besides prominent local leaders and the number
may be around 15.
The first
meeting will be held at Rajahmundry on June 4, 5 and 6 in which the results of
Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnan, East and West Godavari districts would
be reviewed.
The
second meeting will be held at Ongole on June 8, 9 and 10 in which the Party

Prakasam and Nellore districts while results of the the four districts of
Rayalseema will be scrutinised on June 11 and 12 at Ananthapuram., he said.
Reiterating
that the Party will play the role of a constructive opposition party in the Parliament
and in the Assembly, he said, the Telangana wing of the YSR Congress
Legislature Party and the Parliamentary Party would meet to elect
leaders in both the Houses.
Though
the results were not to the expected level, for a new Party it is a big achievement as
it started with one MP and one MLA and now it has 70 MLAs and 9 MPs.
We could
give a tough fight to the 30-year old TDP and wipe out the Congress party from
the region. In which direction did the Congress vote polarise is something we
will be analysing in the meetings, he said.
On the
defection of Nandyal MP SPY Reddy, he said, a notice would be served on him as
per the prescribed norms.
