YSRCP Committed To Address Fishermen Problems: Vijay Sai Reddy

Vizag: YSR Congress Party senior leader and Rajya Sabha Member V Vijay Sai Reddy said party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the only leader who will address the problems being faced by fishermen community in Andhra Pradesh.
Vijay Sai Reddy along with other YSRCP leaders Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and Dharmana Prasada Rao extended solidarity with fishermen community leaders who staged dharna in Visakhapatnam demanding to accord ST status to their community.
The YSR Congress senior leader said on the instructions of the YS Jagan, he will move a private bill in the Parliament demanding to provide reservation to fishermen in proportionate to their population in education and employment. Under article 15 and 16, the community deserved to get more reservation.
The fishermen community constituted 8 per cent in the total population in Andhra Pradesh. The community should have 15 MLAs and 2 MPs as per their population. Vijay Sai Reddy also asserted the need to amend the constitution to provide more representation in the legislative bodies from the community.
