YS Jagan writes letter to Union Minister Arun Jaitley

Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party chief and Leader of the Opposition in AP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to Union Minister Arun Jaitley seeking exemption for Handloom textiles from the Goods and Services Tax.
In the letter, YS Jagan mentioned, "The textile industry provides direct employment to 45 million individuals and generates 60 million indirect jobs. The industry has been going through rough weather because of variety of problems. At this juncture imposing taxes will further push the industry into irrevocable levels"
He requested Arun Jaitley to exempt the yarn, man-made yarn which is used in Handlooms, fabric including saris wove on Handlooms and the ready made Garments made of Handlooms fabric from the ambit of GST Tax.
