YS Jagan begins 'Raithu Deeksha' in Guntur

Guntur: Protesting against the government's failure to protect the interest of the farmers and fall in prices of chillies and turmeric, YSR Congress Party president and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy began his 'Raithu Deeksha' near the mirchi market yard at Nallapadu in Guntur on Monday.

Large number of party workers, farmers and women reached Nallapadu road to participate in the deeksha.
Earlier in the day, YS Jagan received a grand welcome by his supporters at Gannavaram airport. He went to bus stand centre by road from the airport to attend the May day celebrations.

The YSRCP chief garlanded the bust of his father late YS Rajasekhara Reddy at the venue marking the beginning of his deeksha.
Demanding the government to provide remunerative prices to the farmers for their produce, the YSRCP embarked on a two-day 'Rythu Deeksha'.
