We demand an explanation from Babu: YSRCP

Vijayawada: Several YSR Congress Party MLAs have lashed out at the TDP government for getting MLA Roja arrested in Vijayawada and condemned the incident. 

Speaking to the media, YSR Congress MLA Giddi Eeswari said that it was wrong on part of the TDP government to arrest an elected legislator especially after having invited her to the National Women's Parliament.

"Roja was being kidnapped to prevent her from participating in the event. We demand an explanation from Andhra Pradesh Assembly speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu," Giddi Eeswari said.

YSRCP official spokesperson Parthasarathi has slammed this action of the government in getting MLA Roja arrested as undemocratic.   "Arresting Roja is illegal and unacceptable. She should be released immediately and be allowed to take part in the Woman Parliamentarian's conclave," he said.

The YSRCP MLAs are to take up this matter with the DGP.
