Vijayamma seeks statutory protection for funds
03 Dec 2012 2:05 PM

Hyderabad, Dec 3, 2012:
YSR Congress Party honourary president Smt. Vijayamma welcomed the hike in mess
charges of students staying in the Government social welfare hostels.
Reacting to CM Kiran
Kumar Reddy’s announcement increasing the mess charges in social welfare
hostels during the debate over the SC, ST sub plan bill in the assembly on
Sunday, Smt. Vijayamma asked the Government to hike the cosmetic charges also along
with mess charges.
Vijayamma said during
the regime of Dr. YSR, all the welfare schemes for SCs and STs were implemented
with saturation basis and asked the Government to follow the same system now.
Demanding the Government to ensure statutory protection to the funds granted by
the Centre for SC and ST development, Smt. Vijayamma suggested that quota
system in the granting of houses to the SCs and STs be removed.
Vijayamma spoke on the
issue on behalf of YSR Congress Party at the request of the Speaker before the Bill
was adopted by the House.
