Vijayamma :Fight local body polls in unison

Hyderabad, May 17,
2013: YSR Congress party honourary president Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma on Friday
called upon the party leaders and activists to work in unison in the
forthcoming local body elections.

Presiding over an
extended meeting of the YSRCP leaders at her Lotus Pond residence here, she
stressed on the need to fight the local body polls by selecting deserving and
good leaders as party candidates in all villages.

“I call upon you to
work together in unison in the local body elections by taking everybody along with
you to achieve success,” she told the meeting attended by 150 party leaders
including MLAs, MLCs, coordinators and conveners of various affiliated
organizations  of the party. She also said that all castes would be given equal importance in the local body polls.

Smt. Vijayamma asked the party leaders to take
up people’s issues and fight for their solutions like soldiers.

Pointing out that some
forces are trying to weaken the party through their nefarious games, she asked
them to keep a vigil on such forces and thwart their attempts effectively. “The
opponents, envious of our strength, are trying to weaken us and you must be
careful of such attempts.”

The Kiran Kumar-led
Congress Government, which has fallen into minority, has been burdening people
with new takes and hiking of charges with the sole backing of the main
opposition party TDP and its president Chandrababu Naidu.

“Ever since the YSRCP has
been formed, both Congress and TDP have been working together unabashedly
unable to face us independently. They have worked together in all elections till
now and will continue to do so,” she observed.
